Arriving at UCSD
From the Airport (SAN): The airport is located approximately 15–20 miles south of the campus. You can take a ride-share (Uber/Lyft) or the San Diego Flyer shuttle to the Old Town Transit Center, where you can transfer to the Blue Line Trolley directly to campus.
Public Transit: The UC San Diego Blue Line Trolley and several MTS bus routes (30, 101, 201/202) serve the campus daily. Use the PRONTO app for easy fare payment.
Driving & Parking: Parking on campus is limited, and a valid permit is required at all times.
Parking
Parking on the UC San Diego campus is by permit only Monday (7am) - Friday (11pm). Permits can be purchased on-line prior to your arrival to campus or at any of the Conference Desk locations where our staff can walk you through the process. For advanced purchase, please visit Transportation & Parking Services to purchase your permit. If needed, we can guide you through the Guest Account process for purchasing a permit (pdf).
Check in / Check out

Upon your arrival, please head to your designated conference desk. During the summer, we operate two main desk locations supported by a 24/7 on-call hospitality team to assist.
Our hospitality staff will provide you with a Key Packet, which typically includes:
- Access Keycard: For entry into the residential building.
- Bedroom Key: For your individual assigned room.
- Meal Card: To be used at campus dining facilities.
When your stay concludes, please return your key packet to the conference desk. Our team will process your returned items on-site. Additional fees for lost, damage, or replacement items will be processed and added to the final billing of the conference.
While the above covers our general procedures, specific logistics can vary by conference. Please contact your specific conference organizer to receive finalized details regarding your assigned check-in/out times and desk location.

Basic Internet access is included in your conference stay. Wireless connectivity is available in large areas of campus as well as the Housing areas.
